As we know, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Thanksgiving is a time to get together with your family and friends and share not only laughter together, but have that laughter over some great food! This year for Thanksgiving, I will be traveling to Red Wing Minnesota to spend some quality time with people who mean the most to me. I will always remember the smell of my mom's cooking on this special day for the rest of my life.
The Daily Press has posted the most popular foods average American's enjoy on this special day. Check them out!
Coming in at number 5 is...Cranberries. Cranberries is that red stuff on your plate that always runs into your mashed potatoes and looks like a chunk of liver. I personally do not like cranberries, but I hear it is great if you eat in it the same bite as your turkey.
Number 4 is...Ham. Many families have ham instead of turkey because not everyone likes turkey! And I must admin, a nice slice of ham served with some Honey Dijon sauce is a great combination for the holidays.
Sitting in at number 3 is....mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes is always a must at Thanksgiving dinner. Add some extra salt and butter, along with some garlic, and you've got yourself a deal!
Number 2 is...turkey! Of course turkey was going to be on the list as one of the most popular foods! Turkey has been known as nature's sleeping aid. Nothing is better on Thanksgiving then a plate of turkey, some football, and a good long nap.
And finally, coming in at number 1 is....stuffing! My mom makes the best stuffing...hands down. I would have to agree that stuffing is the best, number one, food of Thanksgiving. It is funny that you can just eat it nonstop and you never actually realize exactly how much stuffing you have eaten. It is simply just that good!
And there you have it! The top 5 Thanksgiving dishes. Tell us what your favorite Thanksgiving dish is!
